Traditionally, all professors at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf received a signet ring designed by Markus Lüpertz. As an insignia of power, the heavy, large and metallic ring symbolises a mythical tradition of a masculinist teaching structure in which the professors are at the centre of learning as all-powerful „geniuses“. Sinclair addresses the aspects that are suppressed or ignored in this system, particularly emphasising the lack of a female perspective. The bright red glitter print of one such original ring adorns the arm of a doll, providing a humorous counter-perspective to the historical narrative.
